VkusVill’s New AI Platform “Gala” Aims to Make Work Easier — and Maybe Even Enjoyable
The Russian grocery chain built a secure internal platform that merges AI chat, knowledge sharing, and automatic meeting transcription to simplify everyday work.

Russian supermarket chain VkusVill has launched Gala, a corporate digital platform designed to help employees work smarter, collaborate faster, and access information without security risks. The system combines a knowledge base, a business-process catalog, and AI-powered assistants — including an internal chatbot and an automated transcription tool.
“Gala was developed in just a few months,” said Margarita Kiseleva, senior product manager at VkusVill’s digital transformation division. “Its main goal is to make information accessible to colleagues while keeping everything safely within our internal network.”
One platform, three tools
The knowledge base serves as an internal AI-powered search and chat system where employees can ask questions, find links, or even publish their own guides on workflows. The business-process catalog offers visual maps of how each team operates, with built-in tutorials and shareable diagrams — making it easier for new hires to adapt.
Meanwhile, the AI meeting secretary automatically transcribes up to 6,000 minutes of recordings per month — around 100 hours of meetings — turning them into searchable summaries and detailed transcripts sent straight to participants’ inboxes.
For VkusVill, known for its data-driven approach to retail, Gala represents a move toward smarter, more human-centered digital transformation — one where technology handles the routine so employees can focus on the creative side of work.
