Russia’s Gazprom-Media Holding repelled more than 3.5 million cyberattacks against the video platform Rutube in 2025, the company said in a statement. In total, specialists recorded more than 1.4 billion attempted intrusions into the system.

At peak times, the platform was blocking up to 9,000 attacks a day. The most powerful incidents reached traffic volumes of 1.5 Tbps. Even so, the Russian-built protection system Garda helped prevent serious disruptions.

Security as a Priority

According to Alexei Zhukov, director of cybersecurity at GMP Digital Innovations, the reliability of digital platforms and uninterrupted access to content are strategic priorities for the group. As a result, its cyber defense systems are continuously upgraded by strengthening IT infrastructure resilience and applying artificial intelligence.

The Garda system detects intruders before they can cause significant damage and limits their ability to move laterally within networks by using so-called digital traps.
