Russian Software Firm 1C Expands E-Commerce Presence

1C has acquired a controlling stake in the analytics platform Sellematiсs to deepen its role in digital business services.

Russian software developer 1C is strengthening its foothold in the business services sector. The company recently acquired a controlling interest in the e-commerce analytics service Sellematiсs, according to a report by RBC. This move marks another step in 1C’s strategy to expand its influence in digital platforms.

As one of Russia’s pioneering IT firms, 1C is known for its automation systems in accounting, taxation, and enterprise management. It currently holds about 80% of the domestic ERP market and topped the 2024 ranking of Russia’s most popular franchise brands.

The acquisition of Sellematiсs brings 1C deeper into the online retail space. The company had previously launched '1C:Sales Forecasting,' an AI-powered tool for online sellers. Now, it will integrate broader e-commerce analytics into its offerings. Sellematiсs is already used by leading online marketplaces and companies active in internet retail. The service tracks pricing trends, customer reviews, and brand presence. Over the past year, Russia’s e-commerce sector has grown nearly 40%, with combined revenue surpassing 11 trillion rubles. According to the developers, the merger with 1C will enable the rollout of new business tools by late 2025—including features for ad management, pricing strategies, supply chain optimization, product card enhancements, and competitive analysis. Domestic digital solutions are opening new opportunities for entrepreneurs, major companies, and the national economy at large.
