AI to Explain Alcohol Sales Rules to Moscow Region Businesses
Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region can call a hotline around the clock, where an artificial intelligence answers questions about alcohol retail licenses, the regional Ministry of Agriculture said.

The Moscow Region has more than 13,000 stores with alcohol licenses, and their owners frequently ask about the rules. That is why the ministry launched an assistant that has already passed testing. It explains which documents to collect, what charter capital is required, how to pay the state fee, and how long a decision takes. It also advises on how to submit an application and track its status, how to reissue a license or get a refund on the state fee. It provides information about EGAIS, the system that tracks all alcohol turnover, and about store requirements.
The ministry noted that the rules are the same for all cities in the region. A store must be located no closer than 100 meters from schools and other educational institutions, and between 15 and 70 meters from hospitals and clinics. Alcohol sales in residential courtyards are prohibited. An exception is made for built-in and attached premises in multi-story buildings and stores with street entrances if the distance to the edge of the road is no more than 30 meters.
