LanGPT AI Tool in Russia Aims to Help Students and Researchers Prepare Academic Work
A new generative service is designed to help draft reports, essays, and lectures using verified academic sources.
Researchers at Tomsk State University have launched open testing of a new generative service designed to help create academic texts, the university’s press service said.
The tool, called LanGPT, can generate outlines and structures for essays, research presentations, or lectures. The system uses only verified materials from the Lan (digital academic library system). Its structured responses include references linking directly to the original sources.
A Scientific Knowledge Base in One Click
Users can rely on preset prompts for generating research hypotheses, selecting methodologies, or writing summaries, or they can define their own query parameters. The university emphasizes that the AI assistant is not meant to replace independent academic work but to help users take the first step with less effort.
The service can quickly analyze complex materials from the Lan library, identify key fragments within large texts to support learning new topics, structure information from scientific publications, simplify lecture preparation and assessment sessions, and automatically compile source lists formatted according to academic standards.
To use the service, users simply need to register in the Lan electronic library system.
