Siberian Medical Students to Study Artificial Intelligence Technologies
The new educational module is scheduled to launch in September.

Beginning in September 2026, students at Siberian State Medical University will begin studying artificial intelligence technologies. The program will focus on AI solutions used in diagnostics, treatment, and clinical decision support. The new educational module was developed jointly with specialists from ITMO University in St. Petersburg.
"The need for this program reflects the realities of modern healthcare. Today, the sector urgently requires physician-cyberneticists who understand not only human physiology, but also the mathematical algorithms that power advanced medical devices and software," said Yulia Kolobovnikova, dean of the university's Faculty of Medicine and Biology.
As part of the program, students will study the challenges of applying AI in healthcare, modeling techniques for medical applications, and the use of generative artificial intelligence and large language models in clinical settings.
