IC Tech and Lenzoloto JSC have completed field tests of Russian-made equipment for deploying private LTE networks at industrial sites in the Bodaybo District of Irkutsk Region. The equipment supported data transmission over distances of up to 3 kilometers across challenging terrain. The results will inform the design of a private LTE network for the gold mining company’s operations.

The project centered on an LTE base station developed by IC Tech. During the tests, the partners verified interoperability between the base station and the LTE core network. They also conducted radio coverage surveys at 14 locations across the site, identifying equipment installation coordinates and antenna azimuths to support future network expansion.

“The pilot project with IC Tech did more than confirm that the technology works under field conditions. It also gave us a clearer understanding of how the private LTE network should be designed to provide coverage across the entire site,” said Andrey Shklyaruk, director of information technology at Lenzoloto JSC, part of the OKTO Group.
