Russian IT company RELEX, together with HyperGraphGroup, has completed the first stage of modernizing the Etalon (Etalon corporate information system) and rebranding its platform Tsifrogenez (Tsifrogenez platform).

The companies were tasked with transferring the entire legacy of the original system to a new technological base. The goal of the upgrade was to fully adapt the system to modern conditions, eliminate limitations caused by the old architecture, and ensure stable operation on systems built around 64-bit processors.

“The RELEX engineering team reworked around 3,000 files totaling roughly 25 megabytes and corrected hundreds of thousands of lines of source code to bring Etalon in line with today’s requirements,” said Maksim Efremov, chief technology officer at RELEX.

In Close Contact With Users

Following the modernization, users gained access to significantly faster data processing, expanded analytics capabilities, and improved reliability. The next stage will involve a major interface redesign, the introduction of modern approaches to managing large volumes of data, and potentially replacing the traditional Oracle database with more advanced Russian solutions, such as the SoQoL DBMS developed by RELEX.

“Today’s update is an important step forward that shows how long-standing products can gain a second life. When we started working on the project, one of our goals was to preserve the best features of the original product while eliminating existing limitations and making the system faster, more reliable, and easier for users. The next phase will be even more interesting, as we begin to unlock the full potential of the upgraded platform. It is also important to note that all stages of the project are being carried out in close cooperation with users, because this collaborative approach and continuous feedback help us create effective tools that support the success of any business,” said Vladimir Sakharov, head of special projects at RELEX.
