The Russian company SAUK, which specializes in contactless identification hardware, has developed software called SAUK Beacon Manager. The application is designed for remote configuration, monitoring, and testing of Bluetooth Low Energy beacons. It is expected to significantly simplify the rollout of Russian BLE solutions for the real-time automatic identification of large-scale equipment and assets.

Operating Without GPS in Interference-Prone Environments

BLE beacons allow assets to be tracked within confined areas, with a signal range of up to 100 meters. In environments with interference or where GPS is unavailable, companies can use the system to determine the location of vehicles, machinery, and containers in quarries, warehouses, mines, and factory floors. The new software works with both newly installed and already deployed SAUK BLE beacons. An engineer can see all BLE beacons within smartphone range, check their status, and adjust key parameters. The system also supports searching for a specific beacon via a QR code linked to its serial number.

A Simple Positioning and Monitoring System

“Our core focus is research and the development of innovative technologies. Every month, we put into production new Russian-made devices for automatic identification of people and assets. By complementing our BLE product line with SAUK Beacon Manager software, we are creating a simple positioning and monitoring system that does not depend on GPS or GLONASS satellite signals,” Andrey Krasovsky, a PhD in engineering and head of SAUK, told IT-Russia.

SAUK, which is based in Zelenograd, is recognized as a center of expertise in RFID and BLE technologies. Its solutions are used in airports, industrial facilities, retail, and the public sector.
