Russia Unveils Upgraded “Piranha” Rover for Industrial and Security Missions
The all-terrain robotic platform, built by Moscow-based Dronshub, debuted at the “Made in Russia” export forum.

At the international “Made in Russia” export forum in Moscow, the company Dronshub showcased the latest version of its autonomous ground rover “Piranha.” The next-generation platform is designed for monitoring, patrolling, inspecting infrastructure, and cargo logistics, reflecting Russia’s growing expertise in industrial robotics.
The all-terrain vehicle can carry up to 300 kilograms of payload and tow up to 500 kilograms. It features a rear-wheel drive, a high-clearance chassis, and can operate in extreme conditions — from –25°C to +40°C. Both the hardware and control software were developed domestically, with 80 percent localization of components. Operators can control the rover remotely via the company’s DH: Cloud Control Center platform.
Upgraded for Real-World Operations
According to Dronshub CEO Maksim Tomskikh, the new version was refined based on operational experience.
The updated model also includes enhanced dust and moisture protection, allowing reliable use in rain, and a wider wheelbase for greater stability.
Currently, the “Piranha” rover is already in service at Pulkovo Airport, where it assists with baggage transport, as well as at several industrial facilities across Russia — marking a step forward in the country’s robotization of logistics and inspection systems.
