At Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant’s First Unit, Control System Prepared for Pre-Commissioning Tests

At Turkey’s Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is being built by Rosatom, preparations have begun to get the automated process control system for Unit 1 ready for pre-commissioning tests. This stage will precede the full physical startup of the reactor. Equipment preparations are now being completed, and the reactor building’s inner containment is being inspected.
The automated process control systems allow plant personnel to monitor all processes involved in power generation. The system consists of thousands of sensors that continuously read operating parameters from equipment and structures. The data flows into the unit-level supervisory system, which provides monitoring and control of all process operations. All system components are manufactured to meet the highest requirements for fault tolerance.
