Russian Developer Builds End-to-End Digital Control System at Armenian Mining Plant

Production management shifts from manual processes to automated operations

A Russian developer of industrial digital solutions has implemented an end-to-end digital control system at a large non-ferrous mining and processing plant in Armenia.

The project centers on the Gorny MES (Mining MES) production management system deployed by Tsifra Group. The solution is built on Tsifra. Karier (Tsifra Quarry), the ZIIoT platform, and Tsifra. Konstruktor MES (MES Constructor).

Tsifra. Karier manages the mining and haulage fleet, monitoring 153 units of equipment, supporting planning, and optimizing material flows to reduce bottlenecks. High-precision positioning systems ensure ore quality metrics at the excavation stage, while drilling and blasting operations use these technologies to automate drill alignment based on digital drilling plans. The result is a unified information environment with reports, dashboards, and analytics tools.

The ZIIoT platform and MES Constructor are integrated with nine systems and provide centralized control of the processing stage, monitoring more than 18,000 operational parameters. The system covers production accounting, shipment control of finished products, production planning, dispatch management, and equipment performance monitoring.

From Extraction to Shipment

The unified digital environment enables tracking of every ton of concentrate from a specific extraction site to shipment at the processing plant, while staff can monitor the entire operation in real time.

Before the project, communication between the mine and the processing plant was fragmented. The new digital framework now connects both stages into a single integrated system.

“As a result, the enterprise has gained full visibility into ore flows. Management now has an accurate, real-time picture of operations and can make decisions based on objective data,” said Tsifra Group CEO Mikhail Aronson.

The company plans to introduce predictive analytics tools, tire pressure and road quality monitoring modules, as well as Overview 360 and Smart Bucket systems. Thanks to its scalable architecture, the platform can integrate additional equipment and systems while expanding the fleet under management.
