Russian Software Developer Moves to Strengthen Universities’ Digital Ecosystems

The Astra Group and a leading management university are set to train students in Russian digital technologies.

Russian software developer Astra Group and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics have announced a partnership to train specialists for the digital economy. According to the company’s press service, Astra Group will help strengthen the university’s digital environment and support student training on domestically developed software, including Astra Linux. Students will also be able to complete internships at leading IT companies.

“We aim to shape a new generation of economists and managers who, from the very start of their careers, think within the paradigm of Russian technologies and understand their potential,” said Alexander Aleshkov, Director of Education at Astra Group.

A Pipeline for IT

The university enrolls more than 50,000 students and runs over 500 educational programs. Innovative technologies are being actively integrated into the learning process, and faculty members will also be trained to work with Astra Linux.

According to Vitaly Minashkin, Vice Rector for Research at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, the joint initiatives will help prepare “qualified specialists who meet market requirements, boosting graduates’ competitiveness and strengthening the position of Russia’s IT sector.”
