In Russia, Lomonosov Brings Together a Robot Gardener and an Industrial Manipulator

Robotic machines are becoming an integral part of the country’s technological progress.

Russia’s robotics market is expanding rapidly across multiple sectors of the economy. Industrial manipulators are boosting factory efficiency, agricultural drones are streamlining farming operations, and medical assistant robots are helping surgeons perform some of the most complex procedures.

At the second Robotics, Machine Intelligence, and Mechanisms forum held at the Moscow-based Lomonosov innovation cluster, developers showcased several dozen domestically produced high-tech robotics solutions.

One example drawing particular interest from agricultural producers was a robot gardener. Its design consists of two main components: a computer vision system and robotic manipulators. The operating principle is straightforward: cameras first identify ripe fruit on a tree, and mechanical arms then pick it.

Anthropomorphic Manipulators

One company presented a training simulator for drone operators. The software can be installed on a home computer, allowing users to train online.

An industrial robotic manipulator has found applications in manufacturing plants. Built from a durable metal alloy, it can lift loads weighing up to 60 kilograms. Interchangeable attachments can be mounted on the robot’s arm to handle different tasks.

The first anthropomorphic robot developed by Sber is capable of autonomous movement, interacting with objects, and identifying and correcting its own errors.
