AI Streamlines Permit Process for Moscow Truck Drivers

A new AI-based system in the Moscow region allows truck drivers to obtain highway permits with just two clicks, cutting paperwork to a minimum.
Truck drivers in Russia now have an easier path to securing permits for the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence into regional government systems, the process for obtaining access permits for vehicles over 3.5 tons has become almost fully automated.
According to the Ministry of State Administration, IT, and Communications of the Moscow Region, the new neural network scans all required documents, leaving drivers with just two clicks to complete the application. The service is already available on Russia’s official public services portal under the 'Business' > 'Transport' section.
Neural networks are also gaining traction as intelligent copilots for long-haul truckers. These AI assistants can plan routes, warn of black ice or strong side winds, report on traffic jams, and help drivers avoid road delays. They’re even capable of reducing fuel consumption and travel time, while learning to interpret driver queries and deliver clear, step-by-step responses based on a multitude of factors.
