Russian Software Powers Hydropower Automation in Uzbekistan

A St. Petersburg-based company is deploying its fully localized SCADA system to help dispatchers manage hydroelectric equipment in both Russia and Uzbekistan.

Rakurs Engineering, a St. Petersburg firm and part of the Rakurs Group, is delivering advanced software solutions to hydroelectric plants across Russia and the CIS, including the massive Boguchanskaya hydropower station in Siberia and a key facility in Uzbekistan.

The centerpiece of the deal is the Raskada software suite—a fully domestic SCADA system designed to give dispatchers intuitive control over complex energy infrastructure. The platform is developed entirely in Russia, with 100% localization, ensuring both reliability and cybersecurity.

The company estimates its total investment in energy-sector software across Russia and neighboring countries at 30–35 million rubles. According to CEO Leonid Chernigov, the contract for the Uzbek deployment has already been signed.

"What makes this project unique is that the hardware is Chinese, while the automation is entirely Russian," Chernigov noted. He added that Rakurs software will soon also be deployed at the Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant and the Sredneuralskaya Thermal Power Station.
