Russia Showcases Mining Safety Tech Breakthrough at Major Expo

At a national mining trade show, Russian engineers unveiled fire suppression systems designed to protect heavy machinery in high-risk environments.
At the international trade fair 'Coal of Russia and Mining 2025,' the Yekaterinburg-based R&D center ‘Mine Rescue Technologies’ introduced cutting-edge automatic fire suppression systems for mining equipment. These systems are already deployed at some of Russia’s largest mining enterprises and have been praised by leading machinery manufacturers, according to dprom.online.
The fire suppression systems combine powder-based extinguishing agents for rapid flame knockdown with a cooling liquid to prevent reignition. They offer triple activation modes—automatic, remote, and manual—ensuring operability even in the event of a power outage.
The company is the first in Russia to introduce handheld liquid modules with hose lengths of up to 20 meters. Also making its debut is an explosion-proof system configuration, expanding deployment potential in mines and underground facilities.
Experts say that incorporating these Russian-made technologies raises industrial safety standards. The systems reportedly match top international alternatives, while offering a lower cost of ownership.
