Russian Universities Explore AI Integration in Education

At a national meeting, education leaders outlined strategies for incorporating artificial intelligence into higher education while preserving core academic values.

The latest session of the Association of Leading Universities of Russia focused on the prospects for using artificial intelligence in higher education. Participants from across the country discussed the development of digital technologies in teaching, the ethical aspects of their application, and the need to prepare specialists for the digital economy.

Elena Chernova, Executive Director of the Association, emphasized the central role universities play in implementing this strategy.

Universities are already establishing Centers for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, where they are developing digital platforms and industrial applications.

Following the meeting, it was decided to create an interdepartmental working group to develop recommendations for introducing AI into education. Experts agreed that technology should not replace traditional teaching methods but rather complement them, preserving the fundamental values of education.
