St. Petersburg Rolls Out Free AI Assistant to Help Foreign Nationals Access Public Services

In St. Petersburg, Russia, a free AI-powered assistant is now available in the city’s multifunctional service centers (MFCs) to help foreign nationals navigate government services. The system provides instant answers on entry and residency regulations, as well as details on the documents and procedures required for official processing.

According to the city’s Committee on Informatization and Communications, the bot supports four languages, making it a convenient tool for temporary residents from other countries. Officials say the technology not only speeds up interactions with migrants but also reduces pressure on MFC staff, allowing them to focus on more complex cases.

Previously, St. Petersburg’s MFCs opened dedicated service desks for issuing ESIA and SNILS credentials to foreign nationals. The launch of the AI assistant marks the next stage in streamlining administrative workflows through advanced technology. Similar solutions are expected to roll out in other regions of Russia in the near future.
