Russian Mining Engineering Firm Shifts Fully to Domestic Software

Sever Minerals, which supplies 90 percent of Russia’s mining and processing plants, is moving entirely to homegrown design automation systems as part of a broader digital strategy.
Engineering company Sever Minerals, whose technologies are used by 90 percent of Russia’s mining and processing plants, has announced a full transition to domestic computer-aided design (CAD) systems. The company evaluated Russian-developed solutions and implemented products from CSoft Development.
Among the digital tools Sever Minerals offers the mining sector are laser scanning, 3D design and modeling, 4D process simulation, and electronic document management systems. The firm has also built a digital platform capable of handling technological calculations, engineering documentation, construction design, and industrial process simulations.
The company additionally provides miners with VR-based tools, AR mobile applications, training simulators for equipment maintenance, and automated process control systems.
