Russian Oil Company Transitions Entirely to Domestic Automation Software

After three years of development, company "Zarubezhneft Sever" has fully migrated its key facilities to Russian-made automation systems, achieving independence from foreign software and equipment.

Zarubezhneft Sever, responsible for transporting oil from Rusvietpetro into the Transneft pipeline system, has completed the transition of all major facilities to Russian automation systems. The project took three years to implement.

The shift away from foreign solutions and toward full technological independence was made possible through collaboration between three companies: Zarubezhneft Sever, Zarubezhneft, and Giprovostokneft. Their joint efforts proved that comprehensive process and safety control using Russian-made equipment and software is an achievable goal.

On the oil pipeline, engineers installed two leak detection systems based on the Sirius complex. At the PSP Golovnye oil metering units, foreign devices were replaced with domestic Regul500 controllers and Sirius SCADA systems. Finally, in the summer of this year, automated process control systems were switched to Emikon controllers and the Sirius SCADA platform.
